academic work / Wood work
For this project, I drew inspiration from Stonehenge, aiming to transform wood - traditionally a rigid material - into something that conveys softness and movement. I was particularly influenced by Brutalist architecture, which emphasizes the raw expression of materials. Despite the limitations of materials since i’m in an introductory sculpture class, I was determined not to let this constrain my creative vision.

My concept evolved into a life-sized sculpture that plays with light and shadow, similar to how Stonehenge functions as a timekeeper. However, my piece specifically focuses on highlighting the delicate qualities possible in woodworking.
